Michael R. Sheehan, PhD

During his 40+ years private practice in clinical psychology Dr. Sheehan conducted over 75,000 therapy sessions. Among his several accomplishments, he started the not for profit American Combat Veterans With War Trauma for combat veterans, founded CAID (Child Advocate In Divorce) which provides the parenting classes for the St. Joseph County courts for parents going through divorce, and invented the Self-Esteem Game.
Over 38,000 Self-Esteem Games have been sold to therapist, teachers and parents.
Dr. Sheehan has been a regular contributor to local media. He has had his own TV and radio show (War Brains) to teach the community about PTSD. He has appeared over four hundred times on local news addressing the current psychological issues.
Dr. Sheehan received his bachelor's and Master's from Marquette University before receiving his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from St. Louis University in clinical psychology in 1971.

Shannon S. Jennings, PsyD, LMHC

Shannon S. Jennings, PsyD, LMHC is the President and co-founder of Syncovate LLC, co- creator of the Self-Esteem Game, as well as a licensed mental health counselor.
During her master’s program in counseling, Dr. Jennings worked with local leaders to launch the Child Advocate in Divorce program and played a key role in developing workshop curriculum and the CAID family therapy model; which focuses on being “on the kids’ side”— helping them not only navigate their family’s reorganization, but also to develop new strengths and coping skills through their experiences. Dr. Jennings has years of experience working with children and families during divorce and custody issues, and has a unique perspective based on learning from their experiences every day.
As a presenter, Dr. Jennings has produced and facilitated hundreds leadership workshops and retreats, including training roundtable facilitators in peer learning and small group facilitation techniques.
Dr. Jennings earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from IUSB, a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Bethel College, and a Doctorate in Business Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr.ShannonJennings@gmail.com

Each month a representative from the Child Support Division will present need-to-know information and take questions from the audience.

  • Check in opens at 10:00 am

  • Program starts at 10:15. 

  • Admittance will not be allowed after 10:30

  • Course will be immediately followed by a required evaluation.

Emphasis in the Parent Education and Training Workshop is placed on the risks divorce poses to children.

 

Attendants will leave the workshop with an understanding of healthy ways to deal with issues of divorce and an awareness of how they may unwittingly place their child in harm’s way.


During the webinar you will not be required to turn on your camera or microphone, however, we do expect active engagement in the workshop through chat, polls, activities and confirmed with a five question quiz covering concepts from the workshop. Accomodations available.
